John Burns, Senior Partner of Burns & Gray Law Firm

John Burns grew up in Wadesboro, North Carolina.  He graduated from Bowman High School in 1974, and went to The University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, where he majored in Business Administration and graduated in 1978.  After working for American Bank and Trust Co. for two years, he then went to Campbell Law School where he was on the Law Review, and served as the Business Editor.

Upon graduation in 1983, he went to work for Thomas, Harrington and Beidler, in Monroe, NC.  In 1987 he partnered with Charles D. Humphries, until 1991.  John then established his own firm and worked alone until 2011, when his step-son, Christopher Gray joined the firm.  In 2013, his step-daughter, Sarah Gray also joined the firm, and it was renamed, Burns, Gray & Gray.

John greatly enjoys the practice of civil law, and has the experience to guide his clients through difficult legal matters.  The well-being of his clients is his greatest concern, and he is passionate about providing the highest quality legal service at affordable prices.  He also loves living and working in historic downtown Monroe.  In his free time, John enjoys cooking, and playing with his grandchildren.
